Working as a music professional, Mike Yip is highly experienced in music composition, arrangement and performance. His work is characterized by cross-cultural and experimental practices. His aesthetic is greatly influenced by jazz, rock, ambient, experimental and contemporary music. In his performances, electric guitar, modular synthesizers and effect processors are used as the major medium of expression. Yip is also a long time music educator in university, college and music centre since 2003.
